Way back in March, I ordered a few things for my D&D campaign. My party was getting close to finishing up their last dungeon in the starter set "Lost Mines of Phandelver.", the next setting I want to use it the Isle of Dread, this would be a prehistoric setting and isolated from the mainland, different tribes that could be used against each other or allied with. I made an order to North Star Military Figures, picking up some
Frost Grave Ghost Archipelago Tribals, as well as
Cavepeople from Copplestone Casting, both under North Star umbrella of games. Figured I would get ahead of the curve, paint all the tribes so I can focus on story beats. Really like their metal model lines, tons of variety.
They arrived at the beginning of May and D&D is played on Roll 20 now. But I decided to take a break from the terrain I have been painting to get these done.
At first I was keeping to browns and greys for loin clothes, but this is a fantasy setting, so I added in a few blues and reds for clothing (not that red is very unrealistic)
Might use these two as Wizard and Apprentice in Frostgrave to get more use out of them. I know there is a supplement for
solo and cooperative rules , but I could figure out something. Might be able to convince Rachel to finish off her mouselings that she started back when Frostgrave was released....back in 2015... not holding my breath on that one. As for D&D, I was thinking of different encounters for the party, maybe they come across the tribe as they are hunting large game, or the youth are cornered by a beast and need to be saved.

This was a fun break from Warhammer, each figure didn't have twenty different furs, weapons, equipment, and details that the new GW models have. I relished the simplicity of these models.

In other news, Rachel finished off her base game Scythe figures, somebody wanted to prove that she still paints and told me to post her pictures here. She was inspired to paint them at
Toon Con this year. Rachel taped off the bases as she wanted the colours of each faction visible. We weren't allowed to play Scythe till the figures were all finished being painted. Which means Scythe in the future?

Coming Soon!
Mail came this week that ties into my other secret project. What could it be? Are you tired of waiting around for me to actually finish painting it!? Have you figured it out? Bha! I am too secretive for that!
Secret project 2 is still one the bench, should be just around the corner.
