This is a bit silly, but I was gifted this battle damaged Gipsy Danger for Christmas last year. I didn't want to display it like most figures I have, so I went with basing it for Mech Attack!

Crimson Typhoon was damaged in a one sided fight with my energetic orange cat, it will be getting similar treatment. I have definitely been looking at Aliexpress for some kaiju for these two to fight, because one scale of Pacific Rim miniatures isn't enough for me!

I finished painting all the wolves in Zombicide Wulfsburg, they will be getting shown off soon!
Awhile back, I had the idea of painting up four warbands for each Chaos god in Warcry. I have tons of options for Nurgle daemons, even add in some Skaven Plague monks for variety. Slaanesh, is similar, lots of daemonettes, seekers and a couple heroes. Khorne, I have bloodletters, flesh bounds, bloodcrushers and even Karanak.
Now, Tzeentch is the neglected god in my collection. Just before the pandemic, I acquired a large daemon lot that had an Ogroid Thaumaturge and flamers. I didn't really have a plan for them, I was even thinking of kitbashing the Ogroid to be a Daemon Prince for one of the other gods. But the model looks sweet as is so I eventually picked up some Pink Horrors to start out a small Tzeentch force. Like most projects, it eventually was shelved for a couple months, probably 70% finished. Flash forward to now, I picked it up for a quick win.

This little fellow will be a stand in for a Brimstone Horror. I'll still need 10 Blue Horrors, if each Pink Horror splits into 2 and 10 Brimstone Horrors if all blue horrors split again. Probably unlikely, but a kitbashing I will go.

It is the Season of Scenery, so I should actually paint some terrain....
Josh brings his kids to play, this time they played against each other, but he did mention that his eldest son has been in tournaments.
I played against Nathan, who borrowed some Defenders of Helm's Deep from Josh to play with. I had brought my recently acquired Haradrim... why I didn't bring the stuff I painted up like, trolls or ringwraiths? Good question! I blame lack of sleep the previous night.

| This was basically the whole game, a giant battle in the middle |
We played the Capture and Hold scenario from the core rule book. My cavalry came in big to capture the objectives, I believe it was 2 points for each held and I had 4 of the 5 by the end. Nathan did wound my leader with ranged fire, which got him a victory point.
Either way, I think we both had fun playing. There was an amazing shot at the end of the game. One of my archers tried to shoot at Theoden, he successfully made the shot, weaved the arrow through 3 different skirmishes between his target and wounded Theoden. However, it was the first time he was hit and Nathan used a Fate to shrug off the wound, still cool though!
Well here it is, the anticipated Sentry Box haul and I was doing so good till now. I was close to zeroing out what I had bought at the beginning of the year. *sigh* Oh well, more painting!
Rachel and I were able to visit Sentry Box during our kid's nap. Walking in it I felt like overwhelmed with the selection.

My local store, Comic Readers, and even Dragon's Den in Saskatoon mostly just carries Warhammer and Wizkids miniatures. Sentry Box carries Reaper, Osprey, Warlord games and more for miniatures. There is also an extensive used section for board games and minis, I could have send a while just looking at the Warhammer used section, but time was minimal.
First up, I picked up the Anus Hag Annis Hag from Wizkids. Oh wait, no this was from the Dragon's Den trip after Calgary. Well anyways, I thought she would be a good Killer for Don't Look Back.

Rachel picked up Burrows & Badgers as well as a pirate mouse and some wizards. I picked up Into the Breeding Pit as I seem to be collecting Frostgrave supplements. Better start making a winter board to play it on.
I did paint something... well it was awhile ago.

Enough purchases for now, time to paint! I need to change with the season.
Whelp! It happened! I was doing pretty good at the paint what you got challenge for this year, only having 2 or 3 miniatures positive or negative of zero (at least points wise).
But then I have been listening to podcasts about Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game Battle Companies and I might've found a really good listing on Ebay......
Another May, another batch of monster painted. At the start of May, I was going to just do a smattering of random creatures in my collect. But as I looked through my pile of opportunity, I found something a bit more themed.
Rising Sun is a CMON game with clan vying for power over territories all over Japan. One aspect of the game is summoning Oni to help spread their influence. And what is an oni besides a monster?
